What is Youthpass? Content and strategy
To foster the recognition of non-formal learning, the SALTO Training and Co-operation Resource Centre in Germany develops and implements validation instruments for the different Actions of the Youth in Action Programme. These are to support
- the reflection on the personal non-formal learning process,
- the social recognition of youth work, and
- the employability of young people and youth workers.
- active citizenship of young people and youth workers
Participants of approved projects of Erasmus+ Youth in Action and of the Youth in Action programme have the right to receive recognition for their participation and learning which can be used in their future lives. The Youthpass Certificate is the instrument which has been developed for this purpose.
To produce Youthpass Certificates, please follow the step by step instructions below, guiding you through the production process.
Step 1: Sign up with Youthpass
Please register on the web site hosting Youthpass. Registration is necessary for security reasons. Once you have created your personal account, you can use your e-mail address and the associated password (which is sent to you by e-mail upon registration) to log in for the first time, after interruptions, or on future visits.
Step 2: Enter project details
Please provide the details of your approved project. Please ensure the details are filled in correctly, as they all are displayed on the Certificates.
Step 3: Enter participant details
Please provide the details of the participants in your approved project. Please ensure the details are filled in correctly, as they all are displayed on the Certificates.
Step 4: Validate your Certificate
Please validate the Certificates by providing place and date of signature as well as the full names of the representatives of your organisation signing the Certificates. On the first page that could be the legal representative of your organisation, and on the second page the person in charge of the project can sign who, by coincidence, might be the same person as the legal representative. In Action 2 you have the possibility to add (at Step 3) a third person: the mentor of the volunteer in your project.
Step 5: Generate Certificates
The Certificates are generated as a pdf file. To open the file, you need the Adobe Reader. You can download it free of charge by clicking here or on the icon on the right.
And now enjoy starting with Step 1: Sign up now - please click here.
The steps are indicated by numbering the web pages consecutively from beginning to end to help you find your way. Summarising pages give you a better overview of producing the Youthpass Certificates.
The technical tool for producing Youthpass is designed in a way that permits you to prepare the Certificates before your activity starts: you can fill in a large part of the requested information that is known already (e.g. project details, participant’s details, etc.) and save it. That leaves only those parts to be completed at the end of the activity or afterwards that describe the learning outcome of the activity.
If you would like to work on your project with several people, you have the possibility to add them as editors.
